Top 5 Favorite Horror Movies

1. Mama (2013)

Essentially Mama starts out with a very unfortunate event where both mom and dad end up dead and the children end up missing. After years of searching for the children they are finally found in an abandoned cabin in the woods. While they were there, they connected with ‘Mama’. When they are cleared to leave a rehabilitation center, they are placed to live with their Uncle and Aunt and that’s when the real story begins.

I love this movie because the producers don’t show Mama to much. They focus on the story so you can really get the sense of whats going on. You get the chilling sensation without the visual scare.

2. Dream House (2011)

Dream House is about a family that moved to a small town and just shortly after moving into their new home, they discover terrible news. Their new home was the previous site to a murder scene and the town believed it the suspect was the, still living, father. A neighbor helps the father piece together what had happened leading up to and the night of the night of the murders, throughout the whole movie.

Dream House is in my favorite movie list. This movie had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. What I love about the story line in Dream House is that they retell a story from the past.

3. Insidious (2010)

Insidious is about a boy who unexceptionably becomes a vessel for ghost, spirits and demons. The boy ends up with comma like conditions and that’s when dad calls in a Demonologist into their home. She then reviles to the family that this isn’t the first time she has dealt with a case like this with this particular family.

Like other movies on this list, I loved Insidious because it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I will say though, it was so scary that I did not continue on with the sequels.

4. Ouija: Origin of the Evil (2016)

I just can’t write about this movie, I got goosebumps thinking about it. It’s just one of those movies that you have to watch yourself.

5. Mom and Dad (2018)

I LOVED this movie! It kept me in suspense the whole time and it wasn’t one of those predicable movies. I mean if you try, you will be wrong. Head over to Netflix and check it out for yourself!
