I want to start off by saying that I never expected to get a nomination for anything and I’ve spent the last couple weeks trying to process that this is real. So here we go! I would like to send a huge thank you to Rachel over at Coffee Mamma for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award.
When you’re nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award, there are rules you need to follow while accepting the award in order to keep the circle going:
• Thank the blogger that nominated you
• Write a post to show your award
• Give a brief story of how your blog started
• Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
• Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to
• Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you
Usually people have this big long story and a passion for writing and that’s why they get into blogging. My story is a little bit different, as a new mom PP Depression hit me hard most of my friends are younger and I felt like I was pushing them away always praising my child to them. I got a feeling that yes they were happy but they didn’t care, I felt like I was pushing my child on to them. So one night after Malcolm had went to bed I decided, ‘hey why don’t I create a blog and express my opinion, feelings and all the wonderful things that Malcolm is achieving and the amazing adventures that we go on’. Who cares if anyone reads it, & that is when Malcolm’s Mommy began.
I can’t really say I have “advise” for new bloggers but I do have a couple things that I wish I did differently when I began blogging.
So for the first thing I wish I did differently was, not write to make people happy, or to seem ‘smart’. I didn’t really read any blog post before I started blogging and I felt like that really hindered me. I would write in an essay style format when no one wants to read that kind of writing. Write as if you are talking to someone.
The second thing I wish I did differently was from the get go, I should have started up social media accounts and started interacting with other bloggers. I jumped into this wild ride with hopes that my family and small circle of friends would support me but you need more then that. The blogging community is very welcoming and easy to jump into & it’s amazing when you find other bloggers who use the same platform as you.
That’s all my nominations, I will be in touch with everyone soon either by social media or commenting on your blog. Thank you for stopping by
